Beauty and Make up Tips: Pay Attention to the Expiration Date
According to a British research, all women using make up after the expiration date, are seriously risking their health. Many women admit they don’t know when is the expiration date of their beauty products and sometimes they may even use them for years after it is expired. It is definitely not a good idea to keep on applying on your skin make up that smells bad or doesn’t have it’s typical color anymore.
The mascara is usually good for not more than 6 months, eye shadows – between 18 and 24 months, eyebrows pencil – 18 months. The lipstick and all kind of lip balms are usually ok to use for 12 to 24 months and perfumes – 36 months.
According to the same research 49% of women don’t even remember to look at the expiration date after they start using certain beauty product. More disturbing though is the percentage of the women (about 66%) who admit they would still use the make up even after the expiration date is due without worrying that can be harmful to their health. And 73% of the women say they are not aware what kind of substances the make up contains.
The consumers themselves are the main reason the beauty products to go bad. Bacteria, dust – no matter how terrible it sounds – they are constantly on our skin, hair, in the air, on the numerous objects we touch every day.
Although most of the microorganisms are harmless, some of them can ruin the beauty products we use and that would lead to skin irritation and even infections.
